- Five highly qualified applicants interview for a coveted job. On the night before the last round of interviews, they are all kidnapped and drugged. The next day, they wake up trapped together in a locked room without any hope of escape.

He forces an entrance, and, while waiting for Lawrence to appear, he is faced by Mrs. Hulbert. She offers him money, which he refuses, and finally gets his tale from him. John details her husband's infamies and gives her a list of families Lawrence has helped to poverty and despair. Mrs. Hulbert is astounded and crushed and believes it all against her will. Lawrence enters and Mrs. Hulbert prevents John from killing him. She forces her husband to acknowledge the truth. She tells him her love is dead and that her future will be devoted to those whose lives Lawrence, has helped to make barren.

- Blending documentary and experimental modes, the film examines the past and present of the former steel-town of Homestead, Pennsylvania. The film focuses on the memory of the great steel mill that once dominated the town's riverbank and that has now been replaced by a bright, new mall. By interweaving personal histories, archive footage, and contemporary imagery the film plays on themes of memory, time, and changing landscapes. Rather than take a political or economic stance on deindustrialization, the film looks into the personal and shared memories of former steel workers and how their pasts come to serve as a landscape for their lives.

Mrs. Smith "butts" in on the Icemen's Tango Tea. Mike resents his interference and Smith is fit for the ambulance. Mary Ann realizing Mike's mistake, bids her job "good-bye," much to the distress of her too solicitous mistress.
